JHU Blue Jay Bikes Blue Jay Bikes is a student-run bicycle advocacy group aimed at improving road infrastructure, safet Upcoming for the Spring of 2014!!!

General Information
While our group is run by undergraduates, we encourage all members of the Hopkins community (faculty, staff, grad students, etc) to join us in advocating biking issues and learning everything there is to know about bikes, road safety, and transportation policy.

--You absolutely do NOT need a bike to join!--
Part of our mission is to help non-bikers become bikers by figuring ou

t how to provide easy and affordable rentals-you can help! Blue Jay Bikes big debut semester!

1) Increase membership and hold regular meetings and informational sessions
2) Host our first tune-up booth and series of road safety courses (to certify general student populations for Hopkins Bike Share program)
3) Begin research on Homewood/Medical campus commuter connections and problem areas
4) Host recreational/commuter rides
5) Host end-of-semester Hopkins edition “Bike Party”
6) Create connections with other Hopkins groups and become a part of Move-It Monday campaign

Hey!

There are two free spots for a (biking) advocacy workshop, specifically "Tactics and Timelines" and "Resource Management and Fundraising" with the National Biking and Walking Alliance THIS SUNDAY (8:30a-1:30p) 4/13, email [email protected] for further instructions!!!

The workshop starts at 8:30 and ends around 1:30 (you can technically leave whenever you want). Breakfast and lunch INCLUDED!

Hey EVERYONE! GREAT NEWS! we won a financial aid/discount for the Winning Campaigns Training at Union Mill here in Baltimore! It's being hosted by the Alliance for Biking and Walking on April 11th (Friday) and 13th (Sunday). I know it's a while from now, but it's definitely going to be a great experience and opportunity to gain some advocacy skills.

The price is now $25 instead of $125 for BOTH days. Email [email protected] if you have question, or if the link doesn't work/you aren't getting the discount for some reason.
