đBullying Prevention Month is here. We can pledge to be allies and speak up against it and letâs be honest, how well has that worked? When we work for something we get a better result. Many well meaning social emotional learning programs miss a key piece. The elemental emotional needs that drive human behavior. Sharing this pivotal piece of self/other awareness is what my childrenâs book is about. I wrote it to point to Nonviolent Communication which is responsible for teaching me what I didnât learn any other wayâŚhow to be a better parent, friend and open-minded human being by respectfully understanding whatâs alive in myself and others most of the time. Yay that need-based education is starting to make its way into parenting and psychological worlds. Rarely do I see it linked to NVC so I was excited to hear the Webe Parents Podcast. Like so much in our complicated capitalist society, they have a product to sell which I have not tried. Understanding the basics is critical and their podcast or my book or Gina Simmâs curriculum (called Teaching From Your Heart) on my Link Tree are a great place to start. www.linktr.ee/an.inside.story
