Good morning and happy Monday!

I always loved putting on a yard sale. We hosted many back in the day when we lived in Loch Raven Village. Then we discovered our current neighborhood by attending its annual community sale.

The sales here aren’t like they used to be unfortunately. I think Facebook marketplace has allowed others to make some quick cash without spending all day manning your driveway also not taking into account the preparations prior to and dismantling afterwards!

But Kristen and Kate .swell joined me in 2019 during my community sale. It would lead to the beginning of three backyard vendor markets in 2021, 2022 and 2023. 2022 was all planned around the Queen’s Jubilee Weekend and it was the most successful one! In 2024 my son’s wedding took place in England and we had a wonderful holiday with family and friends!

Last June I held my own sale in the driveway and boy did it rain and still you turned out! There’s just something about selling with friends, meeting customers and making new ones in person!

Hopefully next year, when I am fully able, I can popup again! In the meantime I’ll continue showing up here on Instagram. I allow for local 21286 porch pickup and of course ship all over the world!

Have a great start to your week!

Good morning! Had my cup of coffee and enjoyed some time in the garden! Started to make breakfast and realized I hadn’t shared a flatlay! Well, they are coming soon but wanted to share my shell box creation! One of a kind, certainly not one you would find at the Boardwalk Five & Dime! It’s $65 plus shipping. Just a reminder for this three day weekend starting today, spend $100 or more and I’ll discount your total $20! Now get scrolling backwards as I have many smalls that can add up to $100 quick! Any questions I am available all day! Just send me a DM. Sorry, for those that have open boxes, this doesn’t stack on with those claims! I’ll be back soon with more flatlay posts! Mary Ellen

Good morning! My mind is a bit scattered this week with trying to share antiques and shell displays. I am still figuring out how to do reels but hopefully over the next few months of being more mobile I can get in front of the camera more! Hope you enjoy this simple idea with a few specimen shells ( purchased) along with shells you find on your beach walks. I even spray paint basic beach walk shells with gold to add a little pizazz. The gilded shells tie together the gold trim on this antique Mason pottery compote. I follow a bunch of creatives on Wednesdays that share and while I didn’t make the shells I did curate this shell collection. I love how easy it comes together! Will you try this? Happy Saturday! I couldn’t resist playing around with my patio pots! It’s just sooooo nice outside today! Don’t worry I am resting with my leg elevated inside but it’s nice to do a little lifting. No one said I I have to sit in the couch when you wear a boot and can bear weight on your ankle. Sure I am not pain free but hopefully each day when walking and stretching with PT I’ll be back to my regular self! Have you been spending time outside gardening or putting your feet up and resting a book? Saturday | gardening | patio

Hello and happy Sunday Eve! Yesterday I dropped everything work for visitors and today was attending mass, gathering groceries and visiting my mother-in-law. Just like that and I am working on details for some flatlays! I did get plenty of practice walking with a cane today and I am ready to put my leg up and get to work! Sea you soon on my squares!

Happy Thursday!

I never was much of a pill popper. My tolerance for pain pretty good I guess. My husband told me to be honest when the ambulance turned up to gather me off the ground! I hate the scale thing. I mean how do you know!

Even growing up I could manage pain without the occasional OTC but these past two months I have pills à la carte it seems! They aren’t all for pain of course because Vit D and Calcium I started taking after Covid.

Anyway, I had my husband bring the stag horn fern off the patio from last night’s storm. Along with it came a few new resident creatures. Ants and Lantern Fly nymphs! I had purchased this Wilcox Silverplate Shell motif stand to sell in my Coastal collection but now I am keeping it a bit longer!

When you are out thrifting keep in mind that all Silverplate was not made to be polished and polished and polished to the point the layer of silver has worn off.

But I was drawn to the form and didn’t mine the patina!

I also picked some stone fruits and veggies up in early March at my neighbors moving sale! I am so excited to have some new props.

Physical therapy starts today and I am so excited to learn how to walk with all the new hardware in my ankle!

Wish me luck and please don’t ever say “break a ***”

I’ll be back tonight with some flatlay and vignette sale posts! Let’s a catchup for this gal!

Just a reminder. I archive (hide) sold item post. Scroll backwards and read the description. It’s probably available and certainly can be combined with new posts going forward!

See you later! 💙💚Mary Ellen

Happy Monday!

I am being a good patient today with my leg up comfortably. This weekend with the assistance of a few dear friends and my husband, went on a few local adventures to test out my activity level.

I mean if you show up at the dr and can’t point out how you used your scooter to go to church, go to lunch and maybe, just maybe go antiquing.

You know I was dragged kicking and screaming to buy plants! I will say that my husband even after having a deer hit the car on the very street we live on, he went on to make the patio beautiful and cook dinner at the same time!

I live on the same street as the croquet house. It hasn’t always been called that but the 19th century farm house once owned the property on which my neighborhood sits.

Any who how they keep the croquet hoops and pegs, or wickets and stakes out all year round. They even have wire stakes about the yard to hold your beverage of choice.

I thrift balls, mallets and if I am lucky a full croquet set! Enjoy some of these purposeful uses of the game!

Hello and happy Wednesday! The process of creating can bring so much joy and feelings of accomplishment. When successful, the process and completion makes you want to say
So on Wednesdays we are sharing what we have successfully accomplished. Maybe it will inspire you to try a new activity or encourage us to continue on.

I am back this week with sharing how I added lighting to my thrifted Coastal Bedroom with a simple upcycle. I picked up of a pair of sand cast lighthouse lamps that I found at the goodwill for $7 each! There were a few chips and uneven color in spots. I knew just the trick.

I also had an orange sherbet shade faux bamboo Henredon mirror that I needed to tie into the red, white and blue theme of the room. I still had some paint leftover from my front door in Rembrandt Red. I always keep cans of leftover paint in the garage handy for little projects like this! It just took one coat and patience waiting for them to dry. I picked up two lamp shades and one lamp now sits on the antique painted nightstand and the other on the dresser next to the newly painted mirror. Ask me if you would like to know more.
