Today power went out in Ballwin around 2pm. We are open on Sundays in august for back to school season 7 days a week. As we use manual backup for everything we do electronically, with lights off, in the dark we were able to service almost 50 families with kids needing instruments as first day of school for public schools in Missouri is tomorrow. All together, in just 4 hours of business we sent out 84 violins, violas and cellos.

Quick reminder that registration for the Summer '23 Semester at West County Strings is open throughout the month of April. Summer is an amazing time to continue the work you started during the last school year, prepare for the upcoming school year, or just experience studying the violin or viola for the first time. We'd love to have you come observe a lesson and group class in action, or try a trial lesson. Just give us a call!

I was in 5th grade when my parents bought me my first violin. It was around $1500, which, for them, was no small amount of cash. That violin was a game-changer for me--not only because I saw my parents investing in me, but because I now had an instrument that allowed me to showcase what I could do. It's really hard, as a kid, to be playing on an instrument that's holding you back! Ultimately, I believe that having a quality instrument gave me the confidence I needed to pursue my dream. In fact, that violin took me all the way through college! I'll always be grateful for the significant sacrifices my parents made in my behalf because without them I don't think I would be where I am today.
