I decided to turn a Howard and Davis #4 banjo clock into a Lighthouse Establishment clock. I made the glasses and dial. The clock was in rough shape when I bought it.

A couple of recent projects. An EC Brewster dial and a glass for a Jerome 8 day OG.

It has been a long time since I have posted. I wanted to share some of my clocks. These all have tablets I made over the last few years.
I recently purchased a new printer. Hopefully, it will be an upgrade.

Despite the difficult losses the sanctuary has faced recently, we are constantly reminded of why our work is so important–to protect and advocate for these beautiful animals. They always bring light, and sometimes rainbows, to help during dark days.

Someone asked how I deal with raised chapter rings using a heat press. It would not work to just put the dial on the press and go, the heat causes the metal to soften and the raised ring would collapse.
The solution, heat resistant resin. By carefully filling the ring with resin, it provides support during the heat pressing. Add a Nomex pad, a heat-resistant soft pad that conforms to the variations in the dial, and Bob's our uncle.
I use the resin to make new zinc dials too. Heat the metal and press. Technology is awesome.

Since I started printing dials I decided I should be able to make replacement dial pans too. This is for a friends Seth Thomas regulator 18. I created a simple jig to cut the zinc with a trim router, worked perfectly :)

I have a computer breakdown, my video card isn't happy, and I haven't been able to edit tablets for a few days. Unfortunately, that means I can't finish some dials and tablets that are on order, but I can play with something new.
I started making molds for things like carved splats or moldings a while ago, now it is expanding into Baird advertising clock parts. Below are some photos of a project I am doing for a friend, making replacement doors for a miniature Baird clock. It is amazing how easy it really is to do.
With my health issues finding things I can't break has been difficult, making molds I can do :) Silicone bounces.

Finishing up 2 clocks for a local customer.

First is an Upton Bros cottage clock, I made a new zinc dial and sublimated the dial image, even the mounting holes line up.

The second is an early George Bartholomew column and splat. Replaced the tablet with something a bit nicer. While not historically correct, it looks good.
