1996 Matchless Chieftain 1x12
Sampson-era. The real thing.

40 watts of EL34 authority. This is the period people actually chase. Hand-built when Mark Sampson was still in the room, not just part of the lore.

Big, piano-like low end, rich harmonic mids, and that signature Matchless top end that cuts without getting brittle. Loud, clear, and brutally honest in the best way. It reacts to your hands more than your settings.

These don’t come around often, and clean Sampson-era examples come around even less.

This 1959/60 Martin 00-18E is one of those guitars that stops people in their tracks the second they realize what it is.

Martin didn’t make many of these, and even fewer survived untouched. Late 50s experiment, factory DeArmond pickups, controls mounted right on the top… not your typical Martin, and that’s exactly the point.

Most got changed. Most got lost. This one didn’t.

100% original, clean, and exactly what you want to see from a piece like this. It still has that classic 50s Martin tone, but plugged in it’s a completely different animal. Raw, woody, and honest in a way modern guitars just don’t touch.

Comes with the original hard shell case.

These don’t show up often. And when they do, they don’t hang around.

The Fender Ed O’Brien Stratocaster in Olympic White

Looks classic. Sounds anything but.

Fernandes Sustainer in the neck lets notes hold, bloom, and evolve into full soundscapes. This is the kind of guitar that changes how you play.

Loaded with a Seymour Duncan Little ’59 in the bridge for added warmth, punch, and a thicker voice than your typical Strat.

Vintage style trem keeps it grounded. The rest pushes way past it.

Clean condition with light play wear. Original Fender gig bag included.

Not for everyone. Exactly for the right player.

Why do we keep posting awesome Les Pauls?

Either A: This 1998 Gibson Les Paul Cherry Sunburst Classic is cool
or
B: We have more Gibson Les Pauls in Bakersfield than every other guitar shop* combined
or
C: All of the above

We didn’t accidentally end up with this many great guitars. We went out and got them. One by one.

Gibson. Vintage Gibson. Gibson Custom Shop.
Stacked the way it should be.

And while we’re at it, we’ve also got more Fender Custom Shop guitars than anyone else in the valley.

Bold claims.
100% true.

If you’re wondering what all the 5-star noise is about, come see it for yourself.

*We stopped counting after it got a little ridiculous

2006 Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Custom. Two pickups, because three would’ve been a bit much. Loaded with Seymour Duncan Antiquities that somehow make everything sound a little more legit than it probably should.

All the tuxedo look, zero unnecessary extras. Just plug in and suddenly you’re playing like you meant to do that.

It’s basically the “I don’t need to overdo it” version of a Black Beauty… and honestly, it works.

Who doesn’t love a great 2023 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop with DiMarzio Double Creams?

Modern build, old soul.

It’s got that classic Goldtop look that never goes out of style, but with the kind of feel and playability you expect from a newer Gibson. Then you throw in those Double Creams and suddenly it’s not just vintage-inspired, it’s ready to rip.

This is the one you pick up for a minute and end up losing an hour with.

Just guitars.

We don’t get many like this.

The Gibson Dave Grohl Prototype wasn’t just another guitar that came through the shop. It was one of those pieces that makes you stop for a second. The kind that reminds you why this place exists in the first place.

When it showed up, there was a lot of noise around it. Questions, opinions, speculation. That’s what happens when something like this surfaces. But once you get it in your hands, none of that really matters.

You can feel it.

This one had a presence. Not just because of the name attached to it, but because of what it represents. A moment, a story, a piece of something bigger than just wood and wire.

We held onto it for a bit. Let people come in, check it out, talk about it. That’s part of the fun. That’s part of what a real shop is supposed to be.

Now it’s gone.

And honestly, that’s the goal. These guitars aren’t meant to sit on a wall forever. They’re meant to end up with someone who understands what they’re holding.

To everyone who came through and spent time with it, asked questions, or just stood there for a minute taking it in, thank you.

We’ll miss this one.

But we’re already looking for the next.

Some guitars walk in and the whole room changes.

1964 Gibson Firebird III
One owner
Original sunburst

The best condition example we have ever seen. Period.

No breaks. No repairs. No nonsense. Just a time capsule straight out of 1964.

Original mini humbuckers.
Banjo tuners.
That deep, honest sunburst that only six decades can create.

This is not a hype piece. This is the kind of guitar collectors wait years to find.
