The Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders has explored the support needs of Black caregivers of Autistic family members. Caregivers find that raising autistic children has its joys and challenges. It allows them to reexamine their values and belief systems while developing a greater appreciation of life.. strength and resilience is their portion. While disparities in autism diagnosis is narrowing across cultural backgrounds, this doesn’t mean all families have equal access to diagnosis and services. Current data shows concerning trends among early learners, with only 29.5% of kindergarteners, 45.9% of first graders, and approximately 50% of second and third graders achieving proficiency in foundational reading skills based on the 2023 statewide literacy screener.

In addition to early education challenges, there’s struggles with adult literacy as well. Louisiana ranks low nationally, with estimates indicating that approximately 20% of adults have minimal literacy skills.

❤️ BUSY BEING AMAZING’s candle line is more than a product—it’s a vehicle for positivity, gratitude, and mindfulness. In the past we’ve been met with less than welcoming experiences but it didn’t define or stop our mission or progress. In fact, it made us stronger as individuals and collectively as an organization.

Regardless of the reasons of suffering, you have the power to deal with it. Try not to ask “Why did this happen to me?,” or “What did I do wrong?” Instead, ask God for strength through the trial and offer you a deeper perspective on what is happening. Remember, you are PICKED FOR PURPOSE!

Good morning, I hope you guys are having an amazing day! We had the opportunity to be vendors at Mount Carmel’s Fall fest and we had an amazing time! We set up a human anatomy table for the children and they loved it we were so surprised at how much the kids already knew it made talking and explaining the human body to them even more interesting.
