Continuous Improvement Update! St. Croix Tissue will soon be completing a successful pilot of Braincube’s Productivity Management System. Over the last 6 months we have been using the tools in this system to improve our organization’s access to data and increase the efficiency with which data is monitored, analyzed, and turned around into real-time solutions. From kick-off through today, we have observed significant impacts to:

Data capture & knowledge sharing. More of our team can now quickly investigate and review data in different ways which improves on-the-fly decision making.
Seamlessly turning analysis-based decisions into front-line ex*****on and sustained improvements.
Reducing process variability, leading to more consistent product quality for our customers and lower operational costs.

We’re very happy with these short-term results and are excited to expand our capability with Braincube in the future!

On Thursday May 16th, at the Cascade Partner Summit, St Croix Tissue won the award in the “Stronger Together” goods category. Cascade is a $4 Billion dollar company and supplies close to 7,400 customers. Of that list, only 170 suppliers were invited to the Summit. Along with this great achievement we were also selected as a finalist for the EcoVadis award. Being in the top 12 finalist chosen for having a Gold Status on EcoVadis for our business practice! These are huge achievements being recognized by the very best of companies. We are so proud of our team here at St Croix Tissue with their constant effort to provide the best product, service, transportation, and environmental practices.

The University of Maine Pulp & Paper Foundation Paper Days is over for another year and we were happy to have several team members in attendance. We are proud to be a corporate member of the University of Maine Pulp & Paper Foundation and to have our VP of IGIC East Operations, Marty Richard be on its board of directors. The University of Maine Pulp and Paper Foundation does a great job at recruiting, financially supporting and preparing talented engineering students to become leaders in the pulp and paper industry. We are thankful for their work and always benefit from the networking and knowledge gained at their annual Paper Days event!

Members of our sales, logistics, quality and operations team travelled to visit the Cascades facility in Wagram, NC this week. It is always so beneficial to get to talk to our customer in person, see their production facility, ask their team members how we can be better and collaborate on ways to best meet the needs of the final customer. Time well spent!

WINTER SAFETY: We've had some icy conditions the last week. Here at the mill, we use these ice cleats when walking outside to and from buildings on site. We like how effective they are yet also easy to rotate out of the way when coming indoors. They'd be handy to have for anyone walking outside in our area and thought we'd share.
