#3: How to Winterize a Chainsaw

Time: 1 Hour
Complexity: Simple
Cost: Under $20

Refer to your User Manual for specific information but here is a general checklist for your unit.

1. Clean Thoroughly.
2. Lightly Oil Chains/Metal.
3. Drain Fuel System Completely.
4. Add Engine Oil To Spark Plug Opening.
5. Pull Starter Rope 8-10 Times.
6. Clean Air Filter.
7. Store in a Clean, Well-Ventilated Area.

In the Holiday spirit? Help bring in the holiday season during Sturgeon Bay's Annual Christmas by the Bay Celebration. The fun begins today at 6:00 pm and goes until Sunday morning.

All the fun begins at 6:00 pm on Friday, Nov. 18 with our tree lighting ceremony at the clock tower on historic Third Avenue at 7:00 pm.

#2 : How To Winterize Your Pressure Washer (Gas Powered)

Complexity: Simple
Cost: $30
Your User Manual will give specific information for your given model but here is a general checklist for your unit.

1. Decide if you want to take all the gas out of the unit or add a fuel stabilizer to a full tank of gas.
2. Remove all liquids.
3. Add Pump Saver.
4. Check/Replace Oil.
5. Remove the spark plug and pour a tablespoon of clean oil into the cylinder.
6. Check/Replace Air Filter
7. Check Tire Pressure.
8. Store in a clean, dry unit that protects it from all the elements.

#1: Winterize a Lawn Mower:
Time: 1-2 hours
Complexity: Simple
Cost: About $30

1. Decide if you want to take all the gas out of the unit or add a fuel stabilizer to a full tank of gas.
2. Change the oil.
3. Clean the unit of dirt and grass clippings. Make sure to scrape the deck of grass clippings to prevent rust.
4. Remove the battery and periodically charge it throughout the winter.
5. Sharpen blades.
6. Check/Replace the spark plug(s).
7. Check/Change the air filter.
8. Replace the fuel filter
9. Identify any rust spots. Scrub down on the rust spots with a wire brush.
