Yes, I was out at 4 AM trapping a mom cat and her four older kittens.
Why?
Because their last stop was animal control, and I’m trying to prevent that outcome.
And look — I’m not trying to be mean or nasty.
But maybe, just maybe, I’m a little cranky when I’ve been up since before sunrise, quietly trying to trap a stressed‑out cat family…
and someone decides to stand right next to the trap and ask:
“Why would you do that?”
Oh, I don’t know, maybe because:
- I’m running on zero sleep
- I’m trying not to spook the cats
- I’m doing the literal job no one else wants
- And I’m trying to stop the “surprise kittens” cycle before it starts again
🐾 For the folks who missed the memo
Skipping TNVK — Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, Keep — doesn’t create a magical kitten wonderland.
It creates:
- moms pregnant again before their last litter is weaned
- kittens dying from preventable diseases
- colonies multiplying like they’re on a BOGO sale
- shelters drowning
- and rescues like mine running on caffeine, stubbornness, and pure spite
But sure.
Tell me again how “kittens are cute.”
🌸 This is why the Forget‑Me‑Nots Campaign exists
Because every time someone shrugs and says “not my problem,” guess who becomes the problem‑solver
Me.
At 4 AM.
With traps.
Saving a family who didn’t ask for any of this.
The Forget‑Me‑Nots Campaign covers:
- vaccines
- flea meds
- dewormer
- food
- litter
- vet care
- and every “surprise emergency” caused by unfixed cats

Because if I’m going to be awake at 4 AM, it better be for saving lives — not explaining the obvious while someone stands next to the trap like it’s a spectator sport.
