Maria Elena Perez-Puelles, also known as Mele, decided to pursue her true passion for arts and crafts after several years of corporate work. Mele began experimenting with gourds, which is the fruit of an emblematic tree of Margarita Island, and since then, lively figures inspired by nature and characterized by her own unique style began to emerge. Mele is now the driving force behind Art by Mele,

an Arts & Crafts studio with a select variety of both Decorative and Functional pieces of art, all handmade and crafted in Miami, Florida.
