Drag Story Time is Back!

Saturday, August 15 at 11 am
Featuring the FANTASTIC drag king MANX!

Cupcakes were a hit last time, so I am going to be making some for everyone!

Since it's ALSO Bookstore Romance Day, we picked two sweet children's stories with a little bit of romance in them, Prince and Knight and Tale of the Shadow King! (They will make you cry, too.)

Big Bookstore Romance Day Update!
We are so excited to announce 4 incredible Romance and Romantasy authors will be signing at Birdhouse on Saturday, August 15 for BRD!

1-3 pm: Erin Cotter and Vanessa King
3-5 pm: Dana Swift and Andy C Naranjo

The conversations about book bans at the store have gotten dire. Recent changes in Texas, due to curriculum changes voted on by the SBOE and the continued TEA takeovers of public schools, mean that it's easier at this point to list the few books that are actually allowed in schools rather than the thousands that are no longer allowed. Our banned books displays are a tiny slice of what's been banned and challenged in Texas and nationwide. It isn't just classics. It's contemporary authors who are writing important books TODAY that our kids need and deserve access to.
Come by to talk about it and learn, and most important, be sure you are registered to vote in Texas before Oct 5th. Voting out Greg Abbott and turning over our SBOE are our main objective in this fight against the fascist takeover of our kids schools and libraries.

She's such a pro, we got this done in about 30 minutes! (Then it took me 2+ hours to put away!)

Let's revisit the entire Hunger Games series ahead of the new Sunrise On The Reaping movie! Join Bookseller Maddie for a re-read of the series!

Mockingjay Saturdays start Aug 8 at Birdhouse. Free to join, and you can RSVP for any meetup at our event calendar.

The book club will culminate in a group outing to see Sunrise On The Reaping after we discuss the book together!

This book club is open to all ages. If you're a Hunger Games reader, you're welcome to join!
