Chantal loves color, and much of her work features bright tone on tone work or plays against contrasting colors. Never afraid to try new mediums, Chantal likes to experiment with alcohol inks, resin, rubber stamping on a variety of surfaces,

and of course painting. Her most recent passion is recording her creations for her youtube channel Crafts and Crime, where she tells a crime story while she makes a project.

It’s slowly coming along! A sinus infection sidetracked my progress, but I’m on the mend and getting back to work. Happy with how this is turning out so far!

And now the fun part… painting! It’s a learning curve painting on a wood board rather than canvas but I’m not finding it too difficult. It’s definitely relaxing to zone out and fill in all the little spaces.

A part of my contemporary floral series. I always called my style pop art, but maybe it’s more hard edge? I dunno… maybe somebody out there who knows better can fill me in. I just paint what I like and people in my neighborhood tell me it’s cool but they would never put it in their house. (Everybody near me likes modern farmhouse style. Ah well.) 20x20, acrylic on canvas.

So busy getting ready for Black Friday and two holiday vendor shows! How are you spending your weekend? I will be painting some furniture from Goodwill that I’ll be using in my booth. I spent last night photographing earrings. The fun never stops!

Today was my “day off” - I went shopping with a friend today, which meant I got to have an actual conversation with her without a child interrupting me 20 times to tell me about Minecraft. Then we had a lovely lunch where we discussed what we thought Jesse Pinkman’s character will be up to in the Breaking Bad spin-off. We suspect he might be living with his girlfriend’s little boy - what do you think he’s doing now?

Can’t wait to add a new line of serving trays to the shop featuring my artwork as shown here, and also snarky sayings.

Enjoying a quick break with Bella between making some jewelry and creating a new product. I’ve been working hard for the last few weeks and now that the weather is finally nice, I can enjoy some outdoor time with this cuddle monster!
