NOPE. Despite what the scary sign says, you do NOT have to pay to park at the South Lamar Alamo Drafthouse/Highball garage. The sign just went up this week…several weeks prematurely via the property owner, not the businesses, and may actually be pulled down permanently very soon. If you feel skittish, you can park and then validate parking at the Alamo Drafthouse ticket kiosk where the first 4 hours are advertised as free. But remember: for years, prior to this week, there was a sign that stated 4 hours parking max and in a different color with less harsh words. It’s just a new sign that’ll be yesterday’s news before you know it. Keep calm and carry on.
