Every Barro Negro piece begins in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca, where artisans shape, carve, polish, and fire each piece by hand using techniques that have been passed down for generations.

From the outside, it’s just a simple home in San Bartolo Coyotepec, Oaxaca.

Inside, generations of artisans continue a tradition that has been passed down for centuries.

These are a few snapshots from my recent visit. This trip was especially meaningful because I was able to share it with my mom and my daughters. Watching them experience the artistry, hear the stories, and meet the families behind this craft reminded me why this work means so much to me.

Every piece we share carries the hands, heart, and heritage of the artisans who create it.
