The Odd Prop Shop

The Odd Prop Shop Chris Rovo designs, creates, and test spins most of the props offered in this shop.

The Odd Prop Shop was created as a place to sell the odd and unique practice, fire, and led props and creations of Christopher Lee Bevington Bailey aka Chris Rovo. He is supported by his partner Kira Bolin who now handles much of the internet side of things. Jandro helps make wheels from time to time and has been a huge force behind the growth in popularity of this prop.

Love the versatility of this tangle resistant individually wicked sun wheel. You can just do so much more with this prop when you don’t have to worry about getting caught up.

Hello everyone, Kira here.

I wanted to share something I’ve been thinking about making for a long time, and finally felt inspired to bring to life.

These antlers have been traveling with us in our RV for longer than The Odd Prop Shop has even been a shop. They’ve moved from place to place with us, sitting quietly and waiting for the right moment to become something.

They are sisters, not twins. One antler has a broken tip, and the shapes, swirls, and wicks are intentionally not identical. They belong together, but each carries its own character.

The fringe is built around the four elements.
Feathers for Air.
Shells for Water.
The antlers themselves for Earth.
And, of course, Fire.

Between the two pieces I added a compass bead, split in half so each antler carries part of it.

These were made with intention. They are delicate and designed with long fringe so that when you move, the fire and fringe dance together. The fringe may wrap or shift as you move, encouraging you to slow down, hold the moment, and be present with the piece rather than rush through it.

This pair is available for $300 as an altar piece or for intentional fire dancing.
