Second Act Thrift Store Household goods will be given a new lease on life! Keeping things out of the landfill and having affordable goods on hand to help make a house a home.

Proceeds will go to Matchbox Children’s Theatre to fund all our programs.

This operational program's mission is to fuel imaginations and create sustainability for MCT and our community through donated goods, resources, and outreach. Our Shopping Policy

- All sales are

as-is and final. Check carefully before making your purchase. No returns or exchanges.

- No personal checks accepted. We do accept cash, credit card and Apple Pay.

- No tag, no sale. Items with no tag are returned to the pricing room.

- No pets in the shop. Fragile items need extra caution and some of our customers are allergic.

- No food or beverage in the shop, these are best consumed outside.

- Children must be under adult supervision at all times.

- No large bags or backpacks in store. Can be securely left at check out. ACCEPTABLE DONATIONS

Clothing in good condition - No rips, stains or holes. No unpackaged under garments (socks, bras, underwear). If you would not wear it due to its condition, please do not assume that someone else will. Furniture - Nothing that has been recalled or has strong odors. If it is broken beyond simple repair please dispose of it. Knick Knacks - Not broken or lewd in nature. Small appliances - Blenders, hand mixers, microwaves, toasters, toaster ovens in clean, working condition. Electronics - Must be in working condition.

Thanks so much to everyone that helped with our reset. We couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! A lot of effort went into this, and we are so grateful to our volunteers, donors, and costumers for all the continued support!

Exciting Things Are Happening at Second Act!

Sometimes, the best treasures come after a little digging…

Over the past few days, our store has been filled with an incredible team of volunteers from the Hormel Internship Program, who chose Second Act Thrift Shop as one of their community service projects.

Together, we’ve been cleaning, building new display fixtures, reorganizing departments, improving the shopping experience, and preparing for what’s next.

This isn’t about changing what makes Second Act special.

It’s about making it easier to browse, easier to discover treasures, and even more fun to shop.

⭐️ To all of our loyal thrifters, collectors, resellers, and treasure hunters: don’t worry—there will still be plenty of digging! We’re simply creating a cleaner, more organized store so those amazing finds are even easier to uncover. ⭐️

Every purchase and every donation continues to support the youth programs of Matchbox Children’s Theatre, and every improvement helps us serve our community even better.

A huge thank you to the Hormel interns, their mentors, and our partners at United Way for investing their time, energy, and generosity into Second Act.

This is just the beginning.

Stay tuned… we can’t wait to show you what’s coming next.

Our store will be closed Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as we make improvements, reorganize, and refresh the shopping experience.

We’re especially grateful to Hormel Foods and United Way of Mower County for partnering to make this project possible. Through United Way’s Get Connected volunteer initiative, Hormel interns will be spending the day at Second Act Thrift Shop helping clean, reorganize, and refresh our space. In addition to volunteering their time, Hormel has also provided financial support to help make these improvements possible.

Their generosity and community partnership help strengthen our mission, and every improvement they make helps us continue supporting the youth programs of Matchbox Children’s Theatre.

🛍️ We’ll reopen on Saturday with a refreshed store, newly organized merchandise, and plenty of great treasures waiting to be discovered!

Thank you for your patience during this brief closure, and a heartfelt thank you to Hormel Foods, the Hormel interns, and United Way of Mower County for investing in our community. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back on Saturday!

Tomorrow donations in the back will be shut down until we unload the back of the store.

We had an amazing amount of new things donated and need time to be able to get items out and going. We appreciate your understanding.

So we would be more then happy to see everyone come in and shop those sales this week as we have big things coming next week!!
