I’ve been repeating this phrase “wear love” to myself every day for about 2 months now.

When I wake up - wear love.

When I get dressed - wear love.

When I get annoyed at someone - wear love.

When I’m tired and just don’t feel like caring - wear love.

To love is intentional and it was meant for me and for you to give and to receive.

And oh, how wonderful it is to receive love!

I want to be part of that equation of giving and receiving love, even when it’s so difficult.

Today I choose to wear love.

My favorite picture of us taken by one of my favorite people.

Feels fitting to kick off the new year.

My one intention for myself this year is this — one thing at a time.

I tend to take on the world thinking I can do it all but, at some point, my humanity is realized and I have to take a step back and assess where my energy dollars are being spent.

I started 2021 by launching this business and ended it by shutting everything down.

😬 Mistake? Nope. When I say to all of you “take care of yourself!!” I mean it for myself too.

Im still here. The message of flor + ink is still alive. Im here to encourage. Im here to inspire. And I’m excited for however I’m able to do those two very things - be it a shop, greeting cards, or just some IG posts for a little while.

Life is not a race. Learn each step a long the way. Please - still continue to show up for yourself and say yes. I’m still here cheering you on.

If you didn’t know, I am a realist.

I hated pep rally’s in school. Peppy people drain me. And my answer to “is the glass half full or half empty?” was that it’s obviously half empty.

Ive lived in my realistic world because I thought it protected me. I keep my expectations low so as to not get hurt for getting my hopes up.

And then I started a business in February. I have lived in a constant state of self-doubt and questioning my abilities more than ever.

One day, in a convo with we talked about our dreams and all the possibilities of things we could do through saying yes to ourselves. The same thing I told Khrysten I decided I had to start believing for myself:

“Stop giving any time and space for self-doubt. WHAT IF YOU SUCCEED!? Think about that!!”

So, to myself and to you — DREAM, DREAM, DREAM. Work towards your dream. Get excited about it.

We have two options - dwell in self-doubt or dwell in believing in YOU.

Im changing my perspective.

I’m choosing to eradicate the word “mistake” from my vocabulary.

Im choosing to give myself grace on this journey and eliminate the “I told you so” language.

I’m choosing to walk in faith rather than be drained by doubt.

find yourself a friend that can encourage you when its hard and you don't have the words to encourage yourself.

thanks for being that friend for me recently. we will keep showing up, even when the self-doubt feels real.
