This Buteo is lookin’ fast! 🏁

Lightly aged British Racing Green, accented grain lines, aged parchment binding, and a pair of classic racing stripes to finish it off. This one took a lot of steps to get just right, but the end result speaks for itself. Every layer adds a little more depth, character, and attitude.

If you were building a striped guitar, what color would you choose?

Neck pocket fit on this one is absolutely dialed. So precise you can lift the body by the neck with no bolts installed and it stays locked in place.

Every Doubleday Guitar gets a neck individually fit to its body — no pre-batched parts, no sloppy tolerances. Just maximum contact, resonance, and tone transfer from a fully handmade build.

We cleaned up this paulownia body blank and it’s waaay more figured than we were ready for 👀
This one was supposed to be solid black… but there’s no way we can cover up grain like this now.

So now the question is: what color should we spray to really show this thing off? Transparent blonde? Burst? Something wild? Drop your vote below ⬇️🔥

Funk 49 never sounded so right. 🔥
This heavily aged Red Paisley Broadwing Custom into a cranked ’77 Marshall JMP is pure vintage attitude — raw, punchy, and dripping with mojo. The kind of combo that makes you play longer than you planned to.

This one is AVAILABLE now, but it’s a true one-off. No repeats, no second run, no “maybe another someday.” Once it finds a home, that’s it.

If you’ve been waiting for a guitar with real character, this is the one that turns heads before you even hit the first chord. ⚡️

Our good friend and former coworker from Collings, Kristian, swung by the shop and ended up taking this new Dual P90 Broadwing Deluxe in aged Sherwood Green Metallic home before it even made it to the website.

Lightweight, resonant, and loaded with punchy P90 bite—this one already feels like it has a life of its own.

Be sure to check out his band to hear it out in the wild.

Do you actually care how a guitar is made?

Would you rather spend your money on:
• A small boutique builder shaping, spraying, wiring, and assembling every instrument by hand
or
• A mass-produced guitar pushed through CNC machines and production lines?

No right answer — genuinely curious what matters most to players today: craftsmanship, consistency, price, tone, story… or maybe none of it.

This Doubleday build is entirely handmade from raw wood to final setup, finished in aged nitro with premium components throughout. Every detail is intentional.

What matters more to you when buying a guitar?

Shell pink wrapped in rich tortoise binding — a pairing that never misses. Soft, vintage warmth meets bold contrast in the best way.

This Buteo is double bound in tortoise with a tastefully aged nitro finish that lets the alder body breathe and resonate. The flame neck has that perfect ripple and depth, catching the light from every angle. It’s the kind of build that feels alive in your hands — refined, balanced, and undeniably elegant.

Ebony dots in our one-piece maple necks, maple dots in rosewood boards—each one carefully inlaid in-house as part of our full build process.

No plastic, no shortcuts. Just real materials chosen for their character and consistency, integrated into the design from the ground up.

It’s these subtle details that complete the instrument and define a truly boutique build.
