Our mission is to maximize the useful life of items removed from Library circulation through resale and recycling. Recycled Reads sells literary materials withdrawn from the Library’s collection and donated by the community. The store is an active participant in the City of Austin Zero Waste Plan, ensuring obsolete materials are handled in an environmentally responsible way by keeping these materi

als out of landfills. Items sold at Recycled Reads fund Library programs and items we are unable to sell go to third party recyclers. In this way the Library contributes to a socially responsible cause by ensuring that knowledge and learning is passed along to others in need. The store is run primarily by community volunteers with oversight by Library staff. Follow us on Twitter
