The business began when
owners Jane and Hugh Greene purchased an existing Morrow's Nut House franchise in Regency Mall in Augusta, GA in 1984. After several successful years, the store was remodeled, the franchise dropped and the name changed to Greenes's Goodies and Gifts. In 1993, the decision was made to leave the mall and change to a seasonal business, Pecans Unlimited, which specializes in selling New Crop Pecans and Pecan Gift tins. Since pecan harvesting begins each year in late October to early November, fresh New Crop Pecans are readily available to be packed especially for you. The 2000 holiday season was the first year in our permanent location at 1704 Central Ave. We purchased a building that was used for many years by a florist and restored the gift shop to its original early 1940's appearance. How surprised we were to find beautiful hardwood floors under the glued-down carpet! Under one damaged floorboard was a newspaper with headlines, "Vote For Roosevelt."
