JW Bicycle Repair will be closed for approximately 3–4 weeks beginning January 19, 2026.

On January 20, I’ll be undergoing bypass surgery to address a blockage in my LAD (left anterior descending) artery. The procedure will be performed at Maine Medical Center in Portland by Dr. John Fallon, using a robotically assisted MIDCAB technique with the LIMA artery.

This is a minimally invasive approach that avoids opening the breastbone and typically allows for a much faster recovery than traditional open-heart surgery. My focus during this time will be on healing fully so I can return to the shop healthy and ready to work.

Tuesday June 3rd Update.
While riding my eMTB Wednesday evening I had a heart attack and ended up with some stents and a planned future bypass surgery. I am resting at home and fully expect to make a complete recovery. I will remain closed for the rest of this week and go back at it on Monday June 9th.
