🍃 H**p 101: Understanding the Endocannabinoid System
Many people have heard of cannabinoids like CBD, CBG, CBN, and THC, but few realize that our bodies already have a system designed to interact with cannabinoid compounds.
It’s called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS).
Discovered in the 1990s, the ECS is a complex network of receptors, signaling molecules, and enzymes found throughout the body. Researchers believe it plays a role in helping the body maintain balance, also known as homeostasis.
The ECS is involved in a variety of functions that scientists continue to study, including:
• Sleep
• Mood
• Stress response
• Appetite
• Memory
• Immune function
• Pain signaling
Our bodies naturally produce compounds called endocannabinoids, which interact with this system. Cannabinoids found in h**p have a similar structure, which is why researchers have spent decades studying how they interact with the ECS.
While there is still much to learn, understanding the Endocannabinoid System is one of the first steps in understanding why h**p has become such an important area of scientific research.
💚 At VapenJays Botanicals, we believe education is just as important as the products on our shelves.
