Yesterday we’d spoken with a young lady. She says “Well, I don’t work on Mondays so I don’t have Monday Blues. I’m okay with Monday”
We asked her: 🤔 Why do you not work on Monday?
Her: I choose that day to take off To avoid the depression of Monday.
😐
Ok
Lol
We luv transparency.
Honesty.
Many people take Monday off to avoid facing the “Monday Blues”.
The Start of a New workweek is ALWAYS difficult. It doesn’t matter where you live, or what you do for work, or even if you work at all. You still catch the Domino effect of the Monday Blues..
The grumpy energy of the coworkers somehow floats it’s way on over to you!
However, Some workforces are hit much harder than others.
🚨 GENERAL ECONOMIC EFFECTS of Monday Absenteeism
Productivity Loss: National studies show that unexpected absences and lower motivation on Mondays cost employers billions.
Compensating Actions: Businesses often absorb minor losses through co-worker coverage, overtime, or delayed tasks later in the week.
On a macro level, unplanned absenteeism across all days costs U.S. employers $225.8 billion annually in lost productivity. When isolated to specific Mondays where millions of people collectively choose not to show up or actively engage.
The Wealth-Degrading Mechanics of Absenteeism.
When people collectively opt out of working on a Monday, the economic drop behaves like a chain reaction through businesses:
Direct Cost of a Missed Day: Conservatively, a single missed workday drains $340 for a full-time worker and $170 for a part-time worker in direct employer costs.
The "Presenteeism" Drain: Many who do show up on a Monday operate under low motivation or fatigue (popularized by workplace trends like "Bare Minimum Mondays"). This drop in capacity—showing up but underperforming—costs U.S. businesses up to $150 billion annually.
Operational Friction: Unplanned absences force companies to pay overtime or replacement costs to cover the gap. If co-workers cannot absorb the load, it directly delays production lines and prevents businesses from generating real-time revenue.
But we’re here to change that and continue inspiring people by helping them to transform their Monday mindset as we’ve done for the past 12 years with our 3 pillar Monday philosophies.
Looks like It’s has been working.
Though the world is VAST!
It takes some time to reach everyone. 😄
