🫶 Community Update from Brown’s Accents in Attica, Indiana
This past Wednesday, our community experienced a round of severe storms that went across Indiana with strong winds and reports of tree damage and possible localized flooding in and around the Attica area. We are still gathering information as conditions continue to be assessed, but we want to take a moment to share what we experienced firsthand and extend our hearts to everyone affected.
Earlier that day, we had driven through town on our way to Brown’s Accents for a scheduled meeting. We were planning upcoming social media content, taking photos of the shop and getting ahead on preparations for the Fall Festival, holiday events and even long-term planning into 2027. During that time, the storm was moving through, but thankfully our shop itself was not affected.
While we were at the shop, Kyle headed into town to his parents’ home. On his way, he came upon significant damage that had not been there just 30 minutes earlier when he had picked us up lunch from a local restaurant. He had literally grabbed lunch for us, brought it to the shop, spent a short time with us and returned only to find that in that brief window, major storm damage had occurred. We are sharing photos of some of the tree damage from that day as we continue to process what happened.
Our hearts are with every family, homeowner and business in Attica and surrounding Indiana communities who are now dealing with cleanup, uncertainty and the emotional weight of storm damage. We know many are trying to assess their homes, clear debris and figure out next steps.
If you or someone you know needs assistance, here are a few helpful resources:
Indiana 211 (dial 2-1-1) for local support and services
American Red Cross Indiana Region for disaster assistance
Fountain County Emergency Management for local updates and guidance
If you are able, please continue to check on neighbors, offer help where you can and support local families and small businesses as they begin the recovery process.
From all of us at Brown’s Accents, we are grateful our shop was spared, but our hearts are with our community as we move forward together❤️
