We're no strangers to the fine guitars being made by Bourgeois and we're fortunate enough to have two excellent Vintage D models in stock at the moment! Here, Lindsay highlights a 2014 model with Aged Tone Adirondack atop Indian Rosewood back & sides. Note the firm bass and trebles present as well as the guitar's overall tonal clarity and presence, even when played fingerstyle.

We recently took in a collection of some particularly cool vintage instruments and this 1958 Guild T-100D is one of the more alluring electric options that's come our way recently. Dubbed the "Slim Jim" because of its thinline body, this guitar packs a suprising acoustic voice and some serious vintage mojo.

On , few things beat a great D-18! This example from 1953 goes to show that it doesn't have to have a pre-war birthday to still pack all of that lovely, open, woody tone that has come to define the D-18 over the decades.

If you're anything like us, you're digging into the new Bill Frisell record that dropped today! Only felt right to highlight this particular Telecaster in his honor on this . Would you believe that this is a Squier Classic Vibe?! What's your favorite Bill Frisell tune?

There are few amps out there as versatile and well-regarded as the Mesa Boogie Mark V. So it was a no-brainer to take such a successful amplifier into newer and smaller territory when they debuted the Mark V 35! With its dual channels, multiple voicings, Cab Clone D.I. output, independent reverbs per channel, effects loop, and the iconic Boogie 5-Band EQ (also footswitchable!), it works for any genre and any context you can imagine. Built like a tank and with a much more manageable 35 watts of power, there's no ground this Mark V 35 can't cover.

In a move that we would certainly categorize under "Better Late Than Never," we're happy to now be a Public String Recycling Center for the D'Addario Playback program!! Recycling has long been very important to us at Maple Street Guitars and we're thrilled to be able to get our customers involved along with us.
For those unaware, this program means that you can bring any of your old strings and we'll send them to D'Addario to be recycled. This includes electric, acoustic, nylon, and even orchestra strings! The program is free to be a part of and there's no better way to help ensure that your old strings are doing more than occupying space in a landfill.

The CJ35A is Collings’ interpretation of the classic and yet somewhat obscure Gibson J-35 model, which was the precursor to the venerable J-45. This particular CJ35 features an Adirondack top (which was a $1,000 option at the time it was made), which imparts a commanding presence, additional headroom and clarity (particularly in the treble), as well as a very satisfying crispness to the note.

Of course, at the end of the day, there is no Collings that can replicate the sound of an old Gibson—frankly, replication of history has never been the point or their intent. However, the mere existence of the CJ35 definitely reflects a strong respect on the part of Collings for the historical and, more importantly, tonal significance of the J-35 upon which it is based. Even so, while the historical precedent of the J-35 is readily on display (both structurally and aesthetically), one strum of this stunning guitar instantly reveals the carefully considered design and tonal refinement that has consistently set Collings instruments apart. In this respect, the CJ35 is perhaps most accurately described as a very sophisticated and novel homage to a simple, somewhat primitive, American classic.
