Elmwood is likely the greatest locality when what you want is dissolution Fluorite in a variety of aesthetics and forms. This cubic example looks something like a city lost to time, desiccating around a power core (the sphalerite). The luster is ideal for showing the complex patterns exposed by the selective de-ionization of the hexoctahedral form.

Fluorite with Sphalerite and Calcite - Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith County, Tennessee

Erika Mine has one of the most colorful and well recorded histories of any locality in Germany. It’s passed through hands and existed in many iterations under different names. The Mindat description alone is a fun read.
-
The blue coloration isn’t common from this locale, more known for greens. The solid looking wall of hematite just below the surface gives it a unique and elegant aesthetic.
-
Fluorite with Hematite inclusions - Erika Mine, Säulnhof, Germany
6.8 x 5.5 x 5 cm.

If you’re the sort to be tickled by twins, then this thumbnail should be a treat. Glassy and gemmy, an ideal specimen to show the classic pe*******on twin that often goes interrupted. Is also has sharp phantoms!

An unusual occurrence in Xuan Le (Vietnam) are Topaz with Aquamarine (Beryl) and Schorl (Tourmaline) associations. Looking something like a witches hat, this specimen features the combination in a rather wonderful architecture.

An astounding example from Bunker Hill, Idaho. There are two generations of Pyromorphite, distinct in both form and color. The arsenian variety is seen as the citrus-looking bubbles on the bottom. The second generation resembles barrels and has the color of the inside of a lime. These formed well together is rather unusual. I’ve seen few in this size range and have this aesthetic impact.

A great example of Almandine (Garnet) from the Granatenkogel North Slope. A VAST majority of these are polished, as the chlorite laden matrix was often coating the outer layer of the garnets, but would also include into the surface to an extent that prevented it from being cleaned off. Natural faces on specimens like these is uncommon to say the least.

An adorable miniature cluster of Fluorite, Chalcopyrite, and Baryte from the Bergmännisch Glück Mine. This one has deep saturated phantoms, but they’re best observed from its edges. The yellow is exceptional, and the Baryte are large and doubly terminated!

A large specimen of needle Quartz with an ideal vibrant blue Fluorite perched on top. The Huayllapon Mine is considered to be the most important specimen locality of the Pasto Bueno minings, producing the best and most abundant examples. Blue at this depth is considered rare and is highly sought by collectors of the species.

These are one of my favorite Pseudomorphs on the planet (and that’s saying something). These amazing crystals are an unusual example of copper mineral to copper crystals, the opposite of what one might expect. Unlike the other well known instance (Azurite>Copper from New Mexico)
-
Copper after Cuprite - Rubstovske Mine, Russia
6.4 x 4.5 x 4.5 cm.

Easily the most exceptional example I’ve ever had or witnessed from Colombia. The chromophore that causes the green is remarkably Yttrium, an unexpected agent for green in an area so well known for its Emeralds. This particular example is unusual in that the entire Fluorite is green, but it also still has the iconic Frenkel defect that causes the “x” plane to take on a stronger color.
-
Fluorite - Peñas Blancas, Colombia
8.2 x 8.2 x 7.8 cm.
