We’re breaking the rules. 🌿✨
Mint is usually a garden “no-no” to plant with other herbs because it spreads fast and can take over. But in a contained window box, you can enjoy multiple varieties in one spot while keeping them from running wild in your garden beds.

We planted five different mints together for a fragrant, easy-to-harvest container that’s perfect for summer drinks, desserts, and fresh garden flavor. Just give it plenty of sun, regular water, and trim often to keep it full and happy.

Fresh mint, all summer long? Yes please. 🌿

Lavender’s Best Garden Friends 💜🌿
Want to help your lavender thrive while creating a beautiful, pollinator-friendly garden? Pair it with companion plants that love the same sunny, well-drained conditions.

🌹 Roses: A timeless pairing. Lavender’s soft, silvery foliage adds gorgeous contrast, while its fragrance may help deter common garden pests.

🌸 Echinacea: These bold, daisy-like blooms thrive in sun and bring even more pollinators to the garden.

🌿 Rosemary: Another Mediterranean favorite that loves similar soil and sunlight. Together, they create a fragrant, low-maintenance herb garden.

🍃 Thyme: This low-growing herb works beautifully around lavender as a living ground cover, adding texture while helping keep weeds down.

🌼 Yarrow: With feathery foliage and flat-topped blooms, yarrow adds texture, color, and major pollinator appeal.

💫 Planting lavender with the right companions creates a garden that’s beautiful, beneficial, and easy to love all season long.

Phenomenal Lavender Varieties 💜
Each variety has its own charm, fragrance, and growing style. Here’s how to pick the right one for you:

🌿 English Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
Classic and cold-hardy with sweet-smelling blooms. Perfect for borders, pollinators, and dried bouquets.
🪻 Care tip: Loves full sun, well-drained soil, and light pruning after flowering.

🌞 Spanish Lavender (Lavandula stoechas)
The one with the cute “bunny ears”! Great for containers and early blooms with a strong fragrance.
🪴 Care tip: Needs good drainage and more heat—ideal for Southern gardens!

🌾 French Lavender (Lavandula dentata)
Soft, toothed leaves and a lighter scent. Blooms longer in warm climates. Great for a more relaxed, cottagey feel.
☀️ Care tip: Give it space and sunshine; trim regularly to keep it neat.

Which lavender is your favorite? Drop a 💜 in the comments if you’ve planted one - or all three!

Want lavender that actually blooms? Start here ⬇️

✨ Soil matters: Give it super well-draining soil. Mix in cactus mix or horticultural sand for happy roots.

☀️ Sun is crucial: Needs at least 6+ hours of direct sun every day.

🚫 Skip the snacks: Fertilizer = fewer blooms + floppy growth. Lavender loves lean living.

🪨 Gravel over bark: Mulch can trap moisture (root rot alert 🚨). Gravel keeps things dry & breezy.

💜 Try these hacks and you’ll have stunning, fragrant blooms spring through late summer!

The main attraction! This powerhouse annual can produce up to 1,000 blooms in a season and doesn’t need deadheading.

💜 Angelonia
A heat-loving favorite that adds height, texture, and beautiful upright blooms.

✨ Ageratum
Soft, fluffy indigo blooms add a fun pop of color and are deer-resistant, too.

🌸 SunPatiens
Lush, colorful, and tough enough to handle sunny spaces and summer heat.

💖 Cora Vinca
A dependable full-sun bloomer that stands up to heat, drought, and disease.

🌿 Sweet Potato Vine
The perfect trailing accent with bold foliage that fills in fast for a full, finished look.
