Individuals harboring bitterness often abandon healthy relationships due to the necessity of being somewhat vulnerable. This vulnerability aspect would render it excessively easy for others to discern their bitterness and emotional pain. Indeed, that strategy is not particularly effective.

My Sister and I has a serious rift at a time when I really needed her support.
My husband died on May 15th. She lashed out at me at a time when I really
didn't need that.

My sister circulated rumors about my son that were very damaging.

Communication can be a demon among the hearing impaired and sometimes the
solution is "Put the Bottle to the Head and Pull the Trigger!" All I can do
is keep surrounding my son with Love. Every time we do the ending prayer in
the 12 Step Meetings - I visualize him in the center of the Prayers and send him
up to the Cosmos for healing. I have no doubt that he is going to get clean
and sober.

My sister claims that he stole from her. Stealing is out of character for my son.
