A Sterling Silver goblet in the 272 pattern by Gorham. The cup stands 6 1/2 inches tall, weighs 6 troy ounces and is in very nice condition. There is no monogram or mono removal, and the bottom is clearly hallmarked.

An American Coin Silver sugar bowl with a serpent finial by Anthony Rasch. Rasch worked in Philadelphia and New Orleans. The bowl stands 7 1/2 inches tall to the tip of the finial and weighs 19.5 troy ounces. There is a monogram on one side of the bowl and the bottom is clearly hallmarked.

started out as an inside joke. and I used to imitate our friend Rick Thompson. Rick loved a good finial. We would be walking down an aisle at an antique show and Rick would stop as if he were admiring a pretty lady and say, “Would you look at that Fu***ng Finial??!??!” I started making finial Friday posts as an homage to Rick who passed away several years ago and it would always get a laugh out of Dan.

I found these finials in a drawer today and said to myself, “Would you look at these finials” but it doesn’t feel the same. What happens to an inside joke when you’re the last one left? I miss my friends, but shall live on.
