Black Bodega is an online marketplace launching January 1, 2021, that elevates Black-owned businesses, artists and creators by featuring a weekly drop of premium Black-owned products.

We are looking for motivated and passionate individuals, who are dedicated to supporting and championing Black-Owned Business and closing the wealth gap.

Role Overview

Social media is a key part of this organization. We are dedicated to finding creative ways to tell the story of our brand partners and growing our brand’s presence through creative channels, social media, and public communications.

The Social Media Intern will be responsible for developing and optimizing Black Bodega’s social media and digital content helping to elevate the powerful stories of our entrepreneurs and creators.

This individual will work directly with the founder of Black Bodega to promote and monitor online content across digital channels and social media properties to engage our online supporters.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist with the development and deployment of a communications strategy and collateral for online and offline organizing activities

• Create and manage visually appealing social media content, including writing original tweets, Facebook/ Instagram content ect.

• Draft and execute social media content and strategy

• Develop and help maintain the organization’s content calendar and style and brand guidelines (tone, voice, grammar, etc.)

• Employ growth strategies to increase followership

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills, and a demonstrated ability to write in different styles and for a variety of audiences.

• Strong sense of urgency and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently as well as a member of a team.

• Top-notch organization skills. Managing multiple priorities, timeliness, and attention to detail is key.

• Strong familiarity with social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and social media analytics software such as Google Analytics.

Currently pursuing or recent graduate of a media relations or communications degree is a plus

This is a remote flex internship that requires between 10-12 hrs per week, and that offers a flexible schedule of Monday-Friday during normal business hours. Paid weekly stipend of $100.

Start date: Immediate
End date: January 7th 2021 (possibility of extension)
