1996 P Roosevelt Dime with Collar Die Clash Strike!
Year: 1996 | Facility: Philadelphia | Mintage: 1,421,163,000 | MS-65 $2.00 (without error)

He sees it, how did I almost miss it?!?

Another awesome coin roll hunting find! 🔥 And guess what? Not the first this week! (More on that soon.)

This one had me doing a double-take! At first glance it might look like a few other errors, but this is a collar die clash strike—the first one I’ve ever come across! While I won’t be retiring just yet, every time I discover something new it feels like a jackpot.

So, what’s a collar clash strike? 🤔
Also known as a railroad rim (on reeded coins), this happens when the die partially strikes the top edge of the collar die, causing an indentation. When that same die strikes a coin, it creates what looks like a double rim.

This is a first for me—what about you? Have you ever found one while coin roll hunting? Let me know! Happy hunting! 🔍💰

This Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for the thrill of the hunt, the beauty of every coin, and the joy of connecting with all of you in this amazing numismatic journey. Wishing you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving filled with abundance, laughter, and maybe a little treasure of your own! 🦃💰✨

For the past 15 years, we’ve hosted Thanksgiving dinner parties for 10 to 16 friends and family, but this year, we’re trying something different. We’ve packed up and headed to Jupiter, Florida—my wife’s hometown—for a change of scenery and celebration.

Of course, I couldn’t resist bringing along enough coins and currency to create some exciting new videos during the downtime here. Later today, I’ll be sharing a special announcement, so stay tuned!

I’m incredibly grateful for this journey, for all of you, and for the exciting plans I have in store. Starting next week, get ready for bigger and even better things.

Wishing you all a Thanksgiving filled with joy, gratitude, and maybe even a little treasure of your own.

Cheers from Jupiter and Happy Thanksgiving from Jesse Coins!

As foster parents to two amazing kids, our lives are full of challenges, love, and determination. It’s because of them that I’m pushing so hard to turn my Instagram account and upcoming YouTube channel into something meaningful. Every follow, like, and comment helps us grow and inspires me to keep sharing my passion for coins and currency collecting. Your support means the world to us—thank you!

I was thrilled to come across this special coin featuring the Toys for Tots logo on one side and the United States Marine Corps emblem and motto (Semper Fidelis) on the other. Both organizations represent values I deeply admire, and this coin is a beautiful reminder of their impact. As a foster dad, the mission of Toys for Tots really hits home.

Let’s continue to spread kindness and share these stories. 💙

✨ An absolutely stunning treasure! ✨
I just watched a jaw-dropping 1896 Indian Head Penny sell for an incredible $9,500 at a Heritage live auction! 😱 The level of detail, the gorgeous strike, and the immaculate condition of this coin are nothing short of museum-worthy.

This penny is proof that some coins are not just collectibles—they’re true works of art. It’s amazing to see pieces like this, not just for their monetary value, but for the stories they hold and the craftsmanship of their time. As a coin collector, moments like this remind me why I love this hobby so much.

If you could own any dream coin, what would it be? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Up, up, up, and away! 🚀 Gold and silver are skyrocketing like they’ve got rocket fuel in their veins! Where it stops, no one knows—maybe the moon, maybe Mars, or maybe it’ll start its own space station! 🌕💰 Whether you’re holding onto that stash of coins or eyeing some shiny new ones, this could be your golden (and silver!) moment. It’s like watching a coin flip in slow-mo… but with a lot more zeros. 💸

So buckle up, fellow collectors! We might just be in for the ride of a lifetime—just remember to hold onto those rolls and watch the sparkle soar!✨

Disclaimer: This is not investment advice, just a bit of shiny fun!

2017 $1 ** Tombstone Note **
Denomination: $1 | Series: 2017 | Serial No: D 19871927 B | Issuing Bank: Cleveland OH | Quantity Printed: 185,600,000 | Red Book No. F-3004D

With so many fancy serial number varieties out there, it can be tough to keep track of them all when you’re deep in a currency search. A couple of my favorites are birthday notes and tombstone notes. Actually, who am I kidding? They’re all a thrill to find!

Fancy serial numbers are kind of like seasoning food—everyone’s got their own taste. If you’re a by-the-book type, you might say this one’s not quite a tombstone note because the dates are in the wrong order. Hardcore hunters might pass on it, and I can’t really argue with that. It’s like birthday notes that aren’t in the right order for your country—depends on how bad you want it.

But hey, I’m not picky. Gimme, gimme, gimme!

What kind of hunter are you a “by the book“ collector or is there a little room for creativity in your thinking?

And no, I’m not desperate. Just… patience challenged!

Today while I was coin roll hunting I found a quarter that I really wish I hadn’t touched with my bare fingers. Then, an hour later I was flipping between one dollar notes and I came across a very sharp and most likely very dirty pin.

Today’s reminder is to always use safe practices when coin or currency collecting. While I don’t do it often enough, try to wear gloves because there is enough bacteria on coins and paper currency to cause wickedly bad illnesses or infections. I also read something about pneumonia as well, so that’s not good.

Then there’s the safety issue, today was an extreme example of that. Had I not been paying attention, I could’ve pricked my finger or equally as bad, dropped it on the floor and stepped on it.

Happy hunting, good luck, and stay safe.

1977A $1 Note
Denomination: $1 | Series: 1977A | Serial No: B 85918228 I | Issuing Bank: New York | Quantity Printed: 592,000,000 | Red Book No. F-1910B

I just can’t say no to older notes and 1977 is definitely old (which makes me feel really old).

So I’ve been doing currency searches for years now but I haven’t really been organizing them. I do a hunt, I put them in envelope, I forget about them. Typically I record the hunt as well so I have content for 50 or more videos, which I will be setting up this year. It’s been a dream of mine to create a fun channel on IG and YT but haven’t really gotten around to it. This year will be my year! The issue has been, which really isn’t an issue, is that I have a very warped sense of humor. Recording videos has been fun and difficult because I have been holding back a bit.. maybe I’ll let it out and see what happens. I have an IT background so video editing is fun for me. I’ve been preparing for years when I should have just done in… guess we’ll find out what happens?!?

What’s year is your keeper range? For me, anything pre-2000.
