Hey folks, just a heads up – the statement about qualifying for HOH status isn't as straightforward as true or false. It's all about the context. To snag that HOH status, you've gotta meet certain criteria, like being unmarried, having a qualifying person with you for over 6 months, and covering more than half the homekeeping costs. Remember, these costs include rent, mortgage interest, real estate taxes, property insurance, repairs, and the like, but there are some exclusions.

Quick PSA: If someone else (family, friends, assistance programs, such as unemployment, Hud, Sect 8, Non profit programs, Snap/Ebt,etc.) foots a bigger bill than you, sorry, but you can't file as Head of Household.
