Adding cold eggs directly to a hot pot shocks the proteins and they seize up into curds almost instantly, tempering slowly raises the egg's temperature first so it blends into the custard smooth instead of scrambling.

Cook 1 cup rice, combine with 4 cups milk and 3/4 cup sugar in a saucepan, simmer 15-20 minutes till thickened. Whisk 2 eggs in a separate bowl, slowly whisk in a ladle of the hot rice mixture, then stir that back into the pot.

Cook 2-3 more minutes, stirring constantly, don't let it boil. Remove from heat, stir in 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon and 1/2 cup raisins.

That gradual warm-up is the entire reason this stays silky.

Watch your speed this week! Operation Southern Slow Down starts tomorrow. It’s an annual campaign in five southern states, including Florida, where extra law enforcement officers are on the roads looking for speeders and reckless drivers.

I never throw out bacon grease anymore, not since I started making this. There's always a little jar of it in my fridge now just waiting for cabbage night.

FRIED CABBAGE WITH BACON, ONION, AND GARLIC 🥓

- Green cabbage (1 medium head)
- Onion (1 large)
- Minced garlic (2 tsp)
- Bacon (5 slices)
- Bacon grease (2 Tbsp)
- Onion powder (½ tsp)
- Garlic powder (½ tsp)
- Salt & black pepper

🥬 METHOD
1. Cook the bacon in a large skillet till crisp, remove and crumble, reserve the grease in the pan.
2. Add the chopped onion to the bacon grease, cook 3-4 minutes till softened.
3. Add the minced garlic, cook 1 minute till fragrant.
4. Add the chopped cabbage, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper, stir to coat.
5. Cook 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, till the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.
6. Stir the crumbled bacon back in, serve hot.

Never would've predicted that a few years ago.

DIY W**d Killer (For Driveways, Patios & Paving)

Ingredients

2 liters white vinegar

½ cup table salt

2 tablespoons liquid dish soap

Large spray bottle or garden sprayer

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Pour 2 liters of white vinegar into a clean large spray bottle or garden sprayer.

Step 2: Add ½ cup of table salt.

Step 3: Close the sprayer and shake well until the salt has completely dissolved.

Step 4: Add 2 tablespoons of liquid dish soap.

Step 5: Gently swirl or shake again to combine. Avoid creating too many soap bubbles.

Step 6: On a warm, dry, sunny day, spray the solution directly onto the leaves of the weeds until they are thoroughly coated.

Step 7: Be careful not to spray flowers, grass, vegetables, or other plants you want to keep, as this mixture can damage or kill them.

Step 8: Leave the weeds undisturbed for 24–48 hours. Avoid applying if rain is expected within the next 24 hours.

Step 9: Watch the weeds begin to turn yellow.

Step 10: Continue showing them turning brown as they dry out.

Step 11: Once they are completely dry and crunchy, they are ready to be removed.

Step 12: Sweep or scrub away the dead weeds with a hard, stiff broom to leave your driveway or paving looking clean and tidy.

Tips

Works best on young, actively growing weeds.

For stubborn or mature weeds, a second application may be needed after a few days.

This solution is best for driveways, patios, sidewalks, and paving cracks. Avoid using it in areas where you want plants to grow, as it is non-selective and can harm desirable vegetation.
