Today, we celebrate 28 years of Greer Amps…it’s a bit bittersweet, though, as we also mourn the loss of a great friend on both a personal and a business level. I am thankful for each and every one of you, for all the business and support and orders, for the understanding that these products are hand made, one at a time, and that they are a labor of love. I am also thankful for all the kind words and caring voices through the years.
Let me tell you about my friend Kent. hired me to work in his music store way way back in the day. He was a wealth of knowledge about guitars, amps, and tone in general. He taught me a ton. Lately, I’ve been working on a project here and he was supposed to do the studio testing for it, and give me feedback. We had a lot of things that we were working on. Things that were in progress that he and I would dream up ideas about. To say that losing Kent is losing a lot would be an understatement. On this anniversary, there’s a somber feeling in the air. I finished up one of the projects yesterday. It was going to head to Kent next week, for testing and feedback in his studio. It’s sitting on my bench, but I think the best thing to do is to just go plug it in and play for a minute. If you’ve read this far, let me say one more thing about Kent. He let me take my pedals into his store while I worked there and he let me show them off to people. He gave me feedback on them, things he would tweak and such, and he introduced me to some amazing people. He took me to my first NAMM show in Nashville. Kent did a lot for a lot of people…and he will be greatly missed.
Thank you all for the 28 years, and for the continued support and love. Love to you all. Love ya. Mean it.
