Also, if you’d like to support the mural and have a great meal Rooster Creek Tavern is hosting Arroyo Grande Public Art tomorrow night 6/16 from 5-9. All proceeds go to AGPA and if you tell AGPA you want your meal to count for the mural on Monarch Books, it will! How cool is that?!

In the book buying world, we get sent seasonal digital catalogs from the major publishing houses. We review them, and make a list of potential purchases. Then we schedule meetings with our publishing representatives.

We often get access to digital copies of upcoming books, but I am a physical book kind of girl (hence my owning a bookstore and not an electronics store), sometimes we can request physical copies, though they are much more rare than the digital ARCs.

I had two books on my list to request from my Macmillan Publishers rep, but guess what? She knows me so well, she already had this one ready to ship for me!

Mural updates: the mural should be completed the week of June 15th and we are so excited!!

Some have asked about donating towards the mural, and we are excited to announce that we have partnered with .publicart, any donation made through them can be earmarked for the mural on Monarch Books and is a tax deductible donation. You can use the QR code, or go to their website www.agpublicart.org, or there is a link our website www.monarchbooks805.com.

For complete transparency the total for the mural: including permit fees, painting the wall solid blue, and painting the mural, total $8931.40.

There is no pressure to donate, but any and all donations are much appreciated.
