Congratulations to Donna Baker, Art on Main’s newest artist addition.

Donna’s dedication to her creative outlet shows in every painting and drawing that flows from her hand. It’s been incredible to witness her vulnerability and courage as she braves the public space with her original works of art.

If you haven’t seen her pieces in person, be sure to carve out an afternoon to visit the gallery and lay your eyes on her artwork ✨🖤

Come into the gallery to welcome our newest artist Donna Baker and see her amazing work!

When asked about her work Donna said:

"My artistic journey is a testament to the joy of discovery and the power of lifelong learning. While I spent time exploring various arts, crafts and oil painting,it was a shift in medium that truly defined my creative voice. After enrolling in water classes with the renowned Martha Wallace, I spent a decade refining my technique in the medium of watercolor. It was during this time that I fell in love with the medium’s unique challenges and rewards -- so much that I never looked back. I credit my growth to the years spent in the classroom , where I transformed my curiosity into dedicated artistic practice. I hope my work reflects my enduring passion for the vibrant world of watercolor."

Still over here functioning with limited services. Thankfully, & have been out here most of today, repairing the line that was disconnected from our building and also installing a power supply, which should hopefully prevent some future issues.

This might not seem like a big deal to some, but for us, it has inhibited us from providing our best and most efficient methods of production. But it hasn’t stopped us!

Thank you for your patience as we navigate the tech world, blindfolded and with our hands tied behind our backs. Y’all are the very best ✨🖤

Tongues are tied as we wrap our heads around the current state of business, in Arnold. The shop faired well, the parking lot is plowed and the snow is melting fast. The aftermath for us involves a lack of internet and the old fashioned landline that are both currently out of commission.

Rumor says it could be 3 weeks before & are restored. What does that mean? It currently means that we are a cash only operation, running on some limited services.

On a personal note, we are currently transitioning our framing program. The software that we use to generate all framing projects. Our old program is installed on our computer (thank goodness it’s still functioning, for now). The new program is accessed online only. No internet. No access.

There’s so much behind the scenes that goes into running a small business. So many risks. Some rewards.

We wear our hearts on our sleeves. Using this creative outlet to feed our souls and to also make a meaningful living.

Small businesses, much like ourselves, are in need of our commUNITY right now. The digital structure has temporarily collapsed and for so many of us that only equals loss of business. If it’s in your means, dust off the checkbook, hit the ATM. Be prepared. Think ahead. Check on your people.

There’s so much to learn when failure and struggle arise. And as hard and uncomfortable as it may be, that is where beauty, strength, courage, vulnerability, resilience and much, much more are born.

What a storm!?! The mama and I have been hunkered down, tending to ourselves and our sanctuaries.

The shop has been without power since last Monday, with a projected restoration date of February 25th (which seems like an understatement).

As of now we will remain closed as we cannot operate without power. It might even take us a day to get settled back in and address any necessary damages or repairs.

We hope that you are all safe, fed and tending to your essential needs right now. We’ll keep you updated on our return ❄️🖤

The Christmas tree is up, holiday cards are in progress, custom frame orders have closed. It all happened so fast, there aren’t even any ornaments on our tree, yet 😅
We have our nose to the grind, working through this season’s holiday orders. Every year, we swear we are gonna take it slower, get ahead, stress less. At this point, we might be throwing in the towel and leaning into the daze of the holiday season.

Shop hours are Wednesday - Saturday 10-4pm.

Christmas week we’ll have limited hours, so that we can enjoy time with our family. We have a plethora of local art and ready made frames if you are looking for some last minute gifts. Stop in and see Santa’s real workshop ✨🎄♥️

It’s Thanksgiving week, which for us means time with family, breaking bread, a little reprieve amidst the holidaze and a chance to reflect and give thanks.

In addition to our featured artists release, that happened last week, we will be announcing a limited run of specialty goods from . Check back to see the goods!

L E G E N D A RY 🖤🎸🎶

Jimi Hendrix drawn in lyrics.

Artist Unknown.

This one got to spend some time on our walls. It was such a conversation piece, and so fun to watch people’s reaction.

Here’s the backstory. Acquired in the 70’s, there was a choice between Jerry Garcia and Jimi Hendrix, but not enough funds to buy both. So he chose Jimi. In the haze of that era, a pair of scissors was taken to the paper in a DIY fashion. A bit of age, a few Jagermeister stains and a lifetime or two spent under the bed and in the closet, this piece finally made its way into a proper frame.

There’s no shortage of artistic talent in these hills, or the world that surrounds. It’s a beautiful element to being a human.

Pair it with the beauty of nature, the ultimate creator and artistic expression takes to new heights.

Roger Carlson, a woodworker out of Tuolumne County, forages downed Aspen trees, crafting them into one of a kind frames. Find a limited supply of Roger’s frame at the shop, or place your custom order with us anytime.
