We will be holding a free Beginning Fly Tying Class on Saturday September 25th from 12 Noon until 4 PM. John Rogers from the Amador Flyfishers will be teaching the class.. Fishing on White Pines Lake over the weekend was good. Full sinking lines and Sparrow patterns were working the best. Some fish were being caught in the river, using nymphs and larger dries. The flows are a bit high do to runoff and that water is still pretty cold.

While the new regulations have the North Fork of the Stanislaus open for catch & release fishing, things are still slow. There have been a few fish being caught and a good midge hatch going on. The good news is fish plants are scheduled for next week on Angels Creek, White Pines Lake, and the North, Middle and South Fork of the Stanislaus. Should be a great time to come up and go fishing next weekend. Flows are normal for this time year, but plenty fishable. Make sure to stop by the newly expanded shop in Arnold.
