Hello and welcome to The Frugal Fatty!
***STORE GRAND OPENING OCTOBER 19, 2024***
Please allow me a moment to tell you about myself and what The Frugal Fatty is all about. I have a successful 27-year-old son and a smart and talented 15-year-old daughter who keeps me very busy with her sports interests. I work a full time 40-50 hour a week job and run my small business during the remainder of my
time, all while being my daughter's personal uber, chef, and financier. I started my personal “Get Healthier” journey a couple of years ago and managed to shed some pounds in the process. Then, one day, I found myself with 2 full closets of all high-quality clothes that didn't fit me anymore. While I have managed to buy a few new pieces here and there, it took years and thousands of dollars to accumulate the 100's of outfits I had. I searched high and low to find resale options and came up emptyhanded at every turn. I scoured thrift stores and resale shops to find no more than a t-shirt here and an ill-fitting pair of jeans there. I pulled all the clothes out of my closet that I simply couldn't wear anymore and just stared at the 5-10 pieces of clothing that were left, gently swinging from the bar in the closet. I was lost, confused, frustrated, and defeated. How will I afford to replace all of this!? Is all the money I spent on these clothes just wasted?! A large percentage of the American population is considered PS and/or B&T. Why aren't there more options for us?? We are in a strong health-conscious era where more and more people are changing their habits and shedding the pounds. With the new wave of weight-loss enhancements like Ozempic and Mounjaro, people are slimming down more than ever. Yet....there are almost no outlets for us sell our clothing that no longer fits. For us to be the majority of the population, how is it that we are SO overlooked?? I was, and still am, in complete disbelief that this is an unresolved problem for such a large community of people. People who are forced to pay a premium price for quality clothing because it’s considered a “specialty store” that carries “specialty sizes,” yet have no affordable outlets or reasonable resale options. And so it is born....The Frugal Fatty! A Plus-Size and Big & Tall Consignment and Resale Shop……and a solution to all of the aforementioned problems! I am one of you. I am a normal, everyday, plus-size mom that works hard, loves strong and is just trying to make it in this sometimes-cruel world. Overall, my goal is to BE HAPPY, HEALTHY AND LOVED and to give that in return. I live in your community. I support your goals and ambitions. I cheer for your kids as much as I cheer for my own. I am here for YOU! I absolutely LOVE to make people smile and I genuinely enjoy helping people. Lastly, we all know one income doesn't quite cover it all, especially in our current economy, and since it is only my income that we have to depend on, this small business makes up for the lack of a second income in the home and allows for my daughter to be able to participate in the sports that she loves so much. Truthfully, it keeps us from eating bologna sandwiches every day! =P Your support in the growth and success of The Frugal Fatty is far more appreciated than you can ever imagine!
