New project on the hook. Pattern is sort-of Ocean Shores from the website (but I couldn't figure out row two of the repeat, so I just mirrored the first). Working with two yarns on the hook is a challenge. It has a lovely, light, soft texture. Hope your weekend includes time for crafting!!

And, I had to start a new project. I bought these yarns for a different blanket, but felt like the colors got lost in the waffle stitches. Then I saw this design on Instagram from . I'm really loving the simplicity of this pattern, and am much happier with how well the variegated yarn shows up.

We had several snow days last week, so I finished up this little blanket. No pattern, but I used the arcade stitch tutorial from . This was my first attempt at crocheting something larger than a granny square blanket. I now know a size 4 hook should only be used with size 4 yarn when making amigurumi. 😄. And that variegated yarn doesn't always behave the way you expect it to.

Also, spent some time tidying the studio this weekend, and choosing which projects I want to focus on this year. I bought this Tranquility quilt kit secondhand. I put off starting it because I didn't want to mess up this center block. Now I'm excited to see the quilt come together. The pattern is REALLY well organized.

Finished this year's kindergarten quilts. It's become a tradition to use the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend to create these. Now they're off to school to be snuggled by the sweet kiddos who made the handprints and donated the fabrics. Then they'll be given to mamas in crisis pregnancies. I love being part of this ministry.

But this year it's bittersweet. This is the last year I'll have a child at this amazing school. Next year my youngest will be in high school. I've been doing these quilts since my oldest was in kindergarten-nearly 20 years.
