David and Ally joined us for our Table Build Class and took on an incredible project. Starting with two gorgeous 16’ Bastogne Walnut slabs, they created a stunning 10’ formal dining table with a polished finish and a beautiful 5’ table finished with a durable 2K sprayed finish.

They both did an amazing job bringing their vision to life, and the results speak for themselves. These two custom tables are absolutely beautiful and will be enjoyed for years to come.

Part 3 – Final Flood Coat

Apply our Table Top High Clarity Epoxy at approximately 6 oz per square foot for the final flood coat application. This creates a durable, high-gloss finish while enhancing depth and clarity in the epoxy and wood grain. Ensure the surface is clean, dust-free, and level before pouring. Spread evenly using a notched spreader or squeegee, then remove bubbles with a torch or heat gun.

Tyler was just 15 years old when he created his very 1st epoxy table for his school’s FFA program using Texas Mesquite. His 2nd build featured beautiful Costa Rica Monkeypod, and now at 17 years old, he has completed his 3rd table, crafted from stunning Mediterranean Olivewood.

With the support of his amazing parents, Tyler continues to grow and excel in the art of woodworking and epoxy craftsmanship. His passion has even inspired his brother Cruz, who is now building his very first walnut epoxy desk featuring a walnut waterfall design.

This is exactly why we love what we do here at The Wood Shed, watching creativity grow, skills develop, and seeing the next generation fall in love with woodworking.

What an incredible journey to witness. The future is bright for these young craftsmen.
