Did you know? A horse's mane and tail serve as protection to vital blood vessels and sensitive areas during the winter months.

A healthy coat is a warm coat.

A horse’s winter coat is helpful for trapping body heat. Long hairs stand on end and trap warm air, insulating the horse.

Essential amino acids and minerals are vital to hair coat health and quality. Omega fatty acids not only keep coats shiny, but improve the structure of hair.

Check out Bluebonnet Omega + for added Omega 3 Fatty Acids ALA, EPA, and DHA. https://bit.ly/BBOmegaPlus

Omega + is designed to:
- Supply essential fatty acids for a soft, silky, shiny and healthy coat.
- Help support circulation.
- Support a normal immune response.
- Help maintain optimal function of reproductive processes.
- Maintain pliability and hoof moisture.

Myth: Fat can turn into muscle.

Fact: Turning fat into muscle is physiologically impossible. Since fat and muscle tissue have entirely different cellular makeups, you can’t turn a horse’s fat into muscle, or muscle into fat. To help a horse lose weight, they must achieve a calorie deficit by eating less energy/calories than what they require daily, an increase in physical activity to burn calories and build muscle, or a combination of both.

❗️However, too significant of a calorie restriction can result in muscle loss due to the horse’s body breaking down muscle to meet energy needs.❗️

Reducing fat while preserving muscle occurs with a moderate calorie deficiency, adequate protein intake (adequate, not extreme excess), and consistent exercise. Don’t forget to provide appropriate vitamins and minerals as well!
