Old Arabi Lighthouse is thrilled to welcome the purple sparkle floor featured debut of Shorty K. Shorty K is a fine singer/songwriter in the country vain--if Loretta Lynn were a Greenwich Village folk act, it would sound something like Shorty. Shorty K is also the Queen of the Open Mic Scene around the New Orleans area--a much beloved person not just for her talent but for being an overall terrific person. Being in her presence is a kind of magic in and of itself. She rarely strays from the usual 3 song open mic format, and so we are honored indeed to present her for a full hour set. Please come out and support this incredibly talented young lady. We love her, and so will you.

Shorty K will play a set at 6, followed by open mic at 7.
Each participant will get up to 15 minutes of undiluted fame.

All ages/no cover.

NOW PLAYING at Old Arabi Lighthouse: 1976’s M. U. —The Best of Jethro Tull. This was the group’s first proper hits collection, as 1972’s Living in the Past focused on unreleased or non LP tracks. M. U. (which stands for “musicians union,” a reference to the many personnel changes along the way) covers the bands most radio friendly work from 1969–1975. It was such a definitive collection that it was re-released in 2003 with a new name (The Essential) and no other changes. Indeed, all the essential stuff is present: Aqualung, Thick as a Brick, Bungle in the Jungle, Locomotive Breath, Teacher, etc. The best possible introduction to this unique prog rock band.
We have a great original pressing of this one in great VG++ condition for $19.95.
