Hello everyone!
We wanted to share a little message about something that happened at the shop yesterday.
If you’ve ever walked past our shop, you know who we are. Our Pride flags fly year-round, our hand-drawn shop sign say “Y’all means all,” and we carry a year-round Pride collection of in-house designed products. We’ve never been quiet about our commitment to inclusion, kindness, and respect.
Yesterday, someone entered our shop and disrupted a customer’s transaction over a Pride product. They yelled throughout the store using profanity, and slammed a book down on the counter in front of one of our employees.
At first we wanted to share the security footage, but driving deeper separation or heated attention is the last thing we want to do.
So here’s what we’d like to say in return:
This shop is for everyone.
It’s okay to disagree. It’s okay to be unsure, to have questions, or to see the world differently. What’s not okay is disrupting the peace and making our customers, team, and community feel unsafe.
We have always been clear about who we welcome here. That will never change.
To everyone who actively supports an inclusive community, thank you. We hope you always feel safe, seen, and welcome in our store.
