🍀 March is Reading Month! 🍀
March is reading month and we are celebrating the importance of stories and literacy in our community! In Michigan only 1 in 3 fourth graders read at a proficient level, and we want to change that!
For the month of March we are hosting a reading challenge and we want you to come participate with us! For every book you finish in March, come fill out a slip with your name and the title of the book and add it to our box. Entries that include an email will also be entered to win a $25 gift card (no purchase necessary, winner to be picked randomly in early April). All ages are welcome to participate, though anyone under 18 should check with their parent or guardian before submitting an email, please!
We also have a fun bookmark decorating station where you can choose from a number of fun reading/bookstore themed bookmarks to decorate, and then we will laminate them for you to keep!
To track our progress towards our goal of 100 books as a community, we will be adding paper stars to a jar. For every book read we will add three stars, to remind us of the importance of improving that 1 in 3 statistic in our state!
