One of our biggest concerns is material being IR Verified (covers should NOT glow). All our material is inspected before production to insure no one becomes a glow stick. There are other products from different companies out on the market that was never checked and may cause users to have a IR glow. If that happens, the material becomes a liability and the user a bigger target.

Here in the Midwest our seasonal colors change constantly. Whether it’s snow, tan/dry brush or green grass fields in the middle of January. Many of our helmet and pack husks have reversible colors to swap quick in a pinch. For drastic changes, it never hurts to keep another color on ur kit or pack. They take up minimal space yet can give you the one-up in concealment.

It’s coming up on 2 months now since announcing the closing of OPE Gear Co., LLC. It kinda sucks the days are numbered for us two in this space.

With that said, some thought and effort went into feeling out some opportunities and we found a way to keep the brand alive.

Beginning 1 January, 2024, the company will be handed over to a close friend of ours in . Alex is a dude with similar ideals and midwestern pride, as well as far fewer time constraints to focus on business than we’d come to experience.

The outpouring of support that’s come in since that announcement has been really cool and well received. That support and urging to stay around is what made this happen. Community is really real.

We will continue thinning out our thin inventory at this point here as the brand moves from Iowa to Minnesota. Upon the new year look for new products and a different direction. Alex knows there’s more to business than helmet covers.
