Bruce's payback for the headboard situation? He bought a Glasco Coke machine! Small enough to fit in the car but HEAVY! Which means guess who gets to live and it when it sells? Yep ..me... Now I just have to find somewhere to put it.

Last day of St Anthony's annual rummage sale. Guess who bought a Victorian walnut 3/4 bed? Me. Guess what won't fit in the car? The headboard. Guess who carried it from the church to the shop? Bruce. Hope he likes the strawberry pie I bought at the sale!

Most customers assume Tom is my husband. Nope. Tom and his wife Julie are the reason I haven't lost my sanity over the last several years. Tom is one of our vendors and someone we trust with our business. Bruce is the real husband and he doesn't work at the shop. You'll find him doing things like rearranging, mowing the yard and buying at auction. He "officially" became old Saturday and here he is celebrating with our great-granddaughters!

You know us ..we get some weird stuff in. Right now, these two Hamm's bear store displays from the 1980s are looking for a good home. The large bear is over 4' high! They are in excellent condition. Large but made of Styrofoam so not too heavy but awkward to ship.

I have been at the shop for roughly 10 minutes and 3 semis have driven west past the shop. One did a u-turn, one turned into Jackson St (BIG mistake) and the other is just sitting there at Darling trying to figure out what to do. Let the games begin!

Sooo....the railroad tracks two blocks west of us will be undergoing "maintenance" from this morning through Friday. Thanks for the advance notice INDOT. I'm sure traffic will be rerouted at McKinley to the west or Wayne from the east. If you're planning on stopping in this week, when you're on Mill St turn onto Superior (heading south) and you'll end up right at the shop. Drive safe!

Just one of the cool items to come into the shop recently. Some really great items have gone to new homes like a beautiful Willets Belleek grapes tankard and a super clean Campbell's Beans crate. I had a lovely young lady tell me that people her age are looking for genuine antiques and not new decorator items. She really wants Art Deco to make a comeback!

Tax season for me ended the 16th, thankfully. It was brutal this year-over 500 returns. Toledo Toy Show was yesterday and Bruce sold several large trucks. The next show is Kalamazoo on May 16th. Mark your calendar if you love toys!

So...Then and Now is for sale (it has been). No...I don't want it. I do know the $400k price is less than Mel paid for it. That price gets you the building and the business. While I would love more room, I have reasons for not wanting that building.
