COLLEGE MOVE-IN WEEK! 🌿📚

With all the excitement of our Anniversary celebration — and my own personal craziness gathering the approximately 4,872 things apparently needed for a first year of dorm living 😂 — it completely slipped my mind to talk about college move-in days!

So many colleges and universities have move-in this week, and a little bit of green is one of our favorite ways to make a brand-new dorm room feel a little more like home. 💚

Stop by and see Marsha and Nancy today and bring your college kiddo along. Pick out a plant + pot and we’ll help you put together something just for their new space.

I wasn’t exactly surprised that picking out a dorm plant wasn’t high on his agenda, but he ever so graciously said it was okay for me to make one for him…as long as it doesn’t require much effort. 😂

It’s all about the air purification anyway, right? 🌿

Late-summer color starts with seeds planted today.

Think you've missed the window for flowers? Not quite.

Part 1 of our late-summer flower seed series: What can you direct sow NOW?

There are still several favorites you can plant this week for beautiful late-summer and early-fall blooms:

Amaranth
Celosia
Cosmos
Marigolds
Sunflowers
Zinnias — this is the week!

A little watering and a little patience now can reward you with weeks of fresh color just when many summer gardens begin to fade.

And we're not finished! Next up: flowers to start indoors in mid-August for fall planting.

The faces behind the Station. 💚

After a full Saturday celebrating 8 years of City Seed, this feels like the perfect photo to share.

City Seed may have started with one big idea back in 2018, but it certainly doesn't happen because of one person. So much goes on behind the scenes around here, and I'm incredibly grateful for this team that helps me keep it all going.

If you've spent much time at City Seed, chances are you've gotten to know at least one (and hopefully all!) of these wonderful faces along the way.
