To all my friends, students, customers, and colleagues: I was recently diagnosed with an illness that requires timely and aggressive treatment. As a result I will be retiring from the Music Man effective this Saturday, February 5th as I am scheduled for surgery on the following Monday. You needn’t be concerned, I will prevail, but shucks I’ll be 70 in a couple months. It’s time for a new adventure.
It’s hard to believe that it’s been twenty years since I returned to Alaska. So many memories, students, customers, teachers, gigs, the Sight-Reading Clinics, Namm shows, Festivals, etc… I’d just like to thank each and every one of you for enriching my life and I hope that in some small way I’ve enhanced yours.
Karl, Hayden, and the rest of the staff at The Music Man will continue to expertly provide for the needs of Alaska’s musical community. I’ve taught them everything I know and they bring their own special skill sets to assist you in all your musical journeys. You are in very good hands.
I’m not leaving the planet. Expect to see me performing again in the coming months as I’ve worked up a piano-bar type single act.
This shout also goes out to all my friends and former band mates in Washington and around the USA and Canada (You too Vedran, can’t forget Croatia). Love to you all and Rock On!
