Ave all! Just a few head's up for everyone:

The Balkans had a moderate winter temperature-wise, and the fields were not frozen like normal and to our surprise a new lot of Uncleaned Coins and Artifacts are due here perhaps Wednesday, February 12? Cross your fingers! Once in hand counted and sorted, we'll send out our newsletter announcing the exact date and time when they will be available.

The mystery of the "walking bird" rings has finally been solved!
They are Eastern European, 11th-16th Cent. The bird is a stork! In medieval times, as well as now, storks were a symbol of good luck, longevity, and when they returned to their nests it was Spring and time to plant your crops. Of the five received, three are sold and two are still available. See them below.

Once again, if you have not signed up to receive our Newsletter, click the Join My List tab on the left and follow the prompts!

A new lot of uncleaned Roman coins is due here soon. If you have not added your name to our newsletter list we suggest you do it now! Just click the "Join My List" tab lower left; too easy. :-)

This will be the first large lot of autumn-winter as the fields are finally coming down, maybe around 1000+. The last lot of a smaller size Sold Out in less than 3 hours after we sent our newsletter. Our unique provider tells us to expect a goodly number of larger-sized issues!

Too many of our overseas customers in radically different time zones than ours here in sunny Southern California (Europe, Australia, Singapore, etc.) mentioned that by the time they got out of bed and checked their email, all the coins were long gone...which to us seems a bit unfair, you know?

So this time we're going to change it up a bit. Expect to just one of our newsletters in advance that will note exact day and time the coins will be up for sale in our shop. You can't beat that for customer service!

Last week, an unexpected lot of 160 True Premium Roman Uncleaned Coins 'Sold Out' in less than two hours; a new record! Why so fast? Because NRC has a new and sweet bulk email Newsletter program. If you did not receive our latest Newsletter, let us know and we'll add you to the list!

Uncleaned Roman Coins Update - This last lot came to NRC as a surprise as the detecting fields are now full of crops. We DO NOT expect any further lots of uncleaned coins until late July - early August. Our stock of delicious Premium Coins from the Balkans is still full and have been reduced in pricing...so Go for it!

In the meantime, a few new very rare artifacts have now been added to our stock; such as this Ram's-headed Patera handle terminal, ca. 1st-3rd Cent. A.D.

Or this Ancient Egypt, Osiris Figurine, Late Period, c. 664 -332 BC.

And do not miss this exciting Roman Manica or Arm Guard, 1st-3rd Cent! Imagine wearing this super-macho manica to your local coin show!

FYI - We'll be happy to put it any of these pricey items on "lay away" for you so you can make easy low monthly payments. :-) Let us know!

Best regards to all and Happy Hunting!

A Coin Cleaning Lesson; sometimes ancient coins are best cleaned dry if they a simply covered with soft dirt. For instance, this one:

Constantine I, Jupiter, Siscia, Rare 2
Æ 20/3.0gm struck c. 319 AD
Con/ about Extremely Fine; glossy green patina, struck in high relief of both sides
Obv/ IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG; laur. bust r.
Rev/ IOVI CONSERVATORI; Jupiter stg. l., holding Victory on globe and scepter, eagle with wreath before; E in r. field
Mint/ Siscia; •SIS• in exergue
Ref/ RIC Vol VII 15 (siscia) = R2

All I used was a dull-bladed scalpel and a whisk brush.
